THE CDF NIGHTMARE

Image
Photo courtesy of facebook .  Is the constituency Development Fund (CDF)  the new way to loot? Is it that urgent than the drought money? The MPs boycotted meeting for three days because of cdf money not disbursed saying that they don't  have any compromise to face their constituants at home while there are counties around ten listed suffering the worst drought ever.  The government recently alarmed that they need approximately 2billions to fight the drought menace while the MPs claiming to be given the same 2billions as CDF.These same money is to be used for bursaries to students whose parents can't afford even food for them. The pastoral communities migrated further due to drought and about 400,000 students will be missing education but the MPs are insisting for the CDF money not regarding who benefits from this money.the opaqueness is real!  The CDF money is used for development in the constituency like bursaries for the needy students, building of classrooms,

GOLD MINNERS DESTROYS DABEL

Image
The vast county of marsabit in Kenya is silently battling  a dangerous environmental breakdown due to the human activities right at the heart of the county, in dabel area of moyale sub-county. The frustrated drought-hit locals from as far as the Ethiopian border are crowding on the narrow area digging in search of Gold. This happens after a massive drop and failure of their small businesse  like those of "mama mboga" and brokers whose fate have been killed by the prolonged drought.  Not forgetting that this is the same place where green vegetation and water for even domestic use is a long gone story due to  drought, everyone is still optimistic that their struggle for precious gold will one day bear fruits.Digging deeper quarries where they hardly get even particles or dust containing the componets. They still never give up! An estimate of only two out of twenty people on a quarry manage to grab a gram or two of  gold, which is so risky for already dry land being destroyed t

In the bid to quenching my thirst for university  education, I happened to accomplish it with a new and different status, as a married lady. Marriage therefore didn't only change my  mentality of being a wife with added responsibilities but also the actual changes in my schedules as far as schooling at the university is concerned.its  not so easy but turning better with time towards the end of this last bit of my diploma course. Meanwhile, a lot of delays in the progress but yes time has flown to where I am right today. Going deep into the time factor, the hard part started at the eve of my first semester. I got pregnant with with our first child, with awkward nausea and morning sicknesses that could perhaps force me to missing classes & lessons despite how much I try. Concentration fully in the classes while in the same situation amidst many other responsibilities awaiting me for a wife, thus deterring my mental well-being. with the help of Almighty God, I eventually got to com

YES! YOUTH CAN RESCUE KENYAN ECONOMY.

According to article 260 of kenyan constitution, a youth is any person aged between 18 and 34 years. Kenya stands one of the youthful countries in the world according to the recent data. Youths count for about three-quarters of the kenyan population today. However, they're not enabled in terms of empowerment and job opportunities. This therefore serve us one of the reason we fall far behind when it Comes to economic developments.  It is  therefore time to learn that engaging  young people enriches institutions and processes,  and the current dynamic global situation emphasizes this. If we take just one critical aspect of empowering the youth such as skills development, we not only engage them in creating sustainable economic solutions for themselves and their dependants, but we also elevate our competitiveness and productivity as a country. This is because the youth are and will always be strategic players in our growth and development. We must, therefore, empower them to be part a
