The port of mombasa is not only the biggest and busiest one in East and Central Africa but also greatest pillar of Mombasa city keeping its economy alive for a very long time of  existence. 

Mombasa port has been the epicentre of successful trade in the historic mombasa city offering all kinds of goods and raw materials at a  friendly marketing expenses and relatively low taxes on all the imported commodities.

Its busy nature of 24 hours of work basis has employed thousands of people particularly those from the coastal region.this well paying opportunities have improved the living standards of many residents around. 

 The Kenya Port authority has been taking part in many development project like infrastructures(roads) connecting  mombasa to other parts of Kenya & to the world making transport easy thus boosting its economy. 

The port of mombasa also acts as a major attractive site for visitors and tourists for commercial and trade purposes, creating firm international relations linking up Kenya with more developed countries. This therefore favours Mombasa city and its economically hosting  accommodations for both local and international tycoons & traders amid their port services.
